This morning, on June 11th, a significant meeting took place between members of the Beijing delegation, representing the investment promotion agencies of key municipal districts (Dongcheng, Chaoyang, Fengtai, and Haidian), and leaders from the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI).
Mr. Ricard Moir, LCCI Board Member, and Ms. Marta Kozlowska, Head of International at LCCI, engaged in fruitful discussions with the delegation from Beijing. Both parties expressed a strong interest in enhancing their relationship and exploring deeper cooperative opportunities in the future.
This meeting marks a step forward in strengthening ties and fostering mutual growth between Beijing and London’s business communities. We look forward to the exciting developments this collaboration will bring.

Crystal Zhou, Head of WBFC, recently visited the Italy China Council Foundation (ICCF) where she was warmly welcomed by Director General Marco and Alessandra Sartoretti, Head of Corporate and Membership Department.
This visit underscores the strengthening ties and ongoing collaboration between our organizations, highlighting our commitment to fostering deeper bilateral relations between Italy and China. We are excited about the opportunities this partnership will continue to offer, promoting mutual growth and understanding in both regions.

On 13th June John Morris, Head of Growth, and Winnie Cao, Head of China Business Group at Blick Rothenberg, convened with the Beijing delegation to discuss economic contributions and business opportunities.
During the meeting, the delegation highlighted that between 700-1000 companies in Beijing generate over 70% of the capital's GDP and fiscal revenue. These companies represent a diverse mix of sectors and ownership types, including state-owned enterprises, private, and foreign-owned businesses, many of which serve as the Chinese headquarters for their respective organizations.
This engagement underscores our commitment to fostering international business relationships and exploring collaborative opportunities that promote global economic growth. We look forward to building on this dialogue and enhancing our partnerships with key stakeholders in Beijing.

On the afternoon of June 11th, 2024, the Beijing Investment Promotion Service Center, in collaboration with officials from four key districts, hosted the "Invest in Beijing: Winning the Future" promotional event in the City of London. This event highlighted the robust business environment of China’s capital and offered insights into its thriving economy.
Zhu Sheng, the Deputy Director of the Center, shared impressive statistics from the region, noting that Beijing's GDP climbed to $618.26 Billion USD in 2023, marking a 5.2% increase from the previous year. Additionally, Beijing welcomed 1,729 new foreign-funded enterprises in the last year, underscoring the city's appeal to international businesses.
Beijing is dedicated to enhancing its open economic policies. Recently, the city enacted new regulations to further optimize the foreign investment climate. Mr. Zhu emphasized that Beijing is uniquely positioned as both a national comprehensive demonstration zone for expanding service sector openness and a national free trade pilot zone, making it a pivotal hub for global commerce.
The event was well-attended, with participation from over 50 companies, reflecting a strong international interest in Beijing's business opportunities.

From June 10th to 14th, 2024, London Tech Week was held at Olympia London. An investment promotional delegation from Beijing paid a visit to London Tech Week with great interest. The delegates included representatives from four of Beijing’s key business districts, including Chaoyang, Dongcheng, Haidian, and Fengtai districts. WBFC, as the agency for the Northern Region of China, was delighted to have organised the visit for the delegation.
Harriet Radcliffe, Senior Account Manager of Informa Tech, the organiser of London Tech Week, provided insights into the upcoming London Tech Week 2025. She extended a warm invitation to the Beijing delegation and enterprises to participate on a larger scale next year.
We are thrilled with the outcomes of this year's event and look forward to expanding our involvement with London Tech Week in 2025, further enhancing our international collaboration and technological exchange between China and the UK.
